Fire doors have a resistance rating. The most commonly installed fire door in the UK is an FD30 that provides fire protection for a minimum of 30 minutes. Commercial buildings more commonly need to have an FD60 (60 Minute door) installed, especially if your building is large with multiple floors that hold a lot of staff or visitors that need to be given longer to evacuate the premises safely.
